In 1977, Prince Charles was inducted as honorary chief of the Blood Indians on their reserve in southwestern Alberta. The ceremony, conducted in the great Circle of the Sun Dance, commemorated the centennial anniversary of the original signing of Treaty 7 by Queen Victoria.

Famous pop star Ricky Prince has grown tired of the spotlight and the pressures of fame. He makes the acquaintance of Ralph Bitondo, a pizza delivery boy who looks almost exactly like Ricky -- so much so that the two decide to trade identities for a while.

A promising seamstress designs dresses for a Charity Ball hoping to impress the royal guest. Though the dresses seem destined for disaster, the two still may manage to find their happily ever after.

The story takes places just after the Civil War, with hostilities between Yanks and Rebels still in effect between Kansas and Texas. The villain, cattle rustler Vic Landreau (Paul Sutton), intends to play both factions down the middle for his own benefit. But Landreau meets his match in the form of wandering do-gooder Jud Calvert (Charles Starrett).

The Pink Panther has a long journey home and tries to tame a horse to ride back, but it isn't easy.
